AWS re:Invent

I had the pleasure of wrapping up 2024, by working with Wildlife LA on visuals for AWS 2024. AWS re:Invent is a conference which debuts a full suite of the latest Gen AI-powered resources and how they have helped modernize the world of finance. The most exciting part of this project, was to create a system of branded visuals that would wrap around 8ft screen pillars. I used bold graphics designed to attract attention and encourage interactive exploration, making financial services feel more accessible and fostering audience-brand connections.

Early Development

I aimed to create a visual language with geometric elements, resonating with AWS branding and also breaking away from what we traditionally think of when it comes to designing for finance. I visualized a set of shapes and gradients, which could representing different parts of finance and business. I used Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma to concept, storyboard and create fleshed out illustrations.

Pillar Design & Styleframes

I was leading the development of illustration and sequential ideas for how these graphics would come to life. The biggest challenge in this project was presenting a large amount of information—including brand messaging, analytics, and customer stories—while ensuring the visuals weren't distracting and relaying the key messages effortlessly. I approached the designs as a single whole canvas, so that the they would feel cohesive and eye-catching from all angles. For example, when designing frames which showed data, I chose familiar graphics that the audience could easily relate to—such as bar graphs, pie charts, and arrows.
